Warmer Energy Solutions is celebrating its fifth anniversary, marking a remarkable journey from humble beginnings in Managing Director’s dining room to delivering large-scale domestic retrofit programmes across the UK with over 4,000 retrofits completed to date.
Founded in 2020, Warmer Energy Solutions was established to be a specialist in retrofit delivery, dedicated exclusively to energy efficiency and decarbonisation rather than juggling decarbonisation with legacy fossil fuel heating contracts. With this single-minded focus, Warmer Energy Solutions has built a reputation as a leading national provider of turn-key retrofit delivery that supports both social housing providers seeking to maximise Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund grants and homeowners accessing support through ECO, Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) and other government-backed schemes.
From its start-up roots, Warmer Energy Solutions has grown rapidly, now employing a dedicated team across three office locations, including new headquarters at Liverpool’s Estuary Business Park. This expansion has enabled the business to invest in its people, creating high-quality working environments and the capacity to deliver retrofit at scale.

Mullan, who began his career in social housing and public procurement, gained significant experience in ECO-funded retrofits from 2013–2019, working his way up from Commercial Manager to Managing Director at a previous retrofit business before founding Warmer Energy Solutions.

As Warmer Energy Solutions enters its next chapter, the company is looking to expand its role as a leading provider in the retrofit sector by leveraging appointments across a number of national and regional frameworks, including the GMCA Net Zero Housing Retrofit Framework, that allow landlords to access their technical delivery expertise, compliance assurance and tenant-focused care with ease.
